Dr. Frank R. DiMaio

Dr. Frank R. DiMaio's practice specializes in joint replacement and offers the patient high quality care and services, including pre-operative education and rehabilitation.

Dr. DiMaio has been an active member of Nassau County's orthopaedic surgical community since 1994, where he has established a strong clinical reputation. Prior positions include serving as a Chairman in Orthopaedic Surgery and Chief of Adult Joint Reconstruction at Winthrop University Hospital, Site Residency Program Director and Associate Clinical Professor for the SUNY Stony Brook Orthopaedic Department.

During his training and education, his work was recognized with an Excellence Award in the study of Orthopaedic Surgery, and he was the recipient of the National Institute of Health Research Fellowship Stipend from SUNY Health Science Center Downstate. During Dr. DiMaio's advanced fellowship training in Adult Joint Reconstruction at the University of California, San Diego, he specialized in primary and revision hip and knee replacement, as well as Osteotomy Surgery.

Dr. DiMaio has published numerous professional articles relating to the field of Orthopaedics and contributed to chapters in several Joint Replacement textbooks. In addition, he travels internationally as an expert speaker at symposiums, programs and on panels, presenting on new minimally invasive advancements in hip and knee replacement. He also is credited as one of the designing surgeons for Zimmer's Gender-specific knee replacement technology, and is active in numerous clinical research interests.

Dr. DiMaio sits on the Medical/Scientific Committee of the L.I. Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, and is the 2007 past president of the Nassau Surgical Society. He also has served as a New York State Panel Member in the Office of Professional Medical Misconduct and he has recently completed his MBA in Healthcare finance at the Williamstad School of Business at Adelphi University.

Dr. Neil F. Watnik

Dr. Watnik is a graduate of The Johns Hopkins University and received his MD degree from New York Medical College. He is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with fellowship training in Arthroscopic Surgery and Sports Medicine from The Hospital of Joint Diseases Orthopedic Institute in New York City. Dr. Watnik has also achieved subspecialty Board Certification in the field of Sports Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America and a past member of the Orthopedic Trauma Association and American College of Surgeons. He has published and lectured in the fields of Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Trauma. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the North Shore LIJ Hofstra School of Medicine. He has won numerous awards including 7 Teacher of the Year Awards and The Leslie Sgaglione Humanitarian Award from the Orthopedic Dept at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He has extensive experience in treating professional athletes, having been a team physician for the Long Island Ducks Baseball Team and the Long Island Roughriders Soccer Team. His expertise lies in the minimally invasive treatment of the athlete utilizing the most advanced arthroscopic surgical techniques, Cartilage and Meniscal Transplantation and Shoulder replacements. In addition he has extensive experience in the treatment of Fractures and Dislocations. Dr. Watnik donates his time on an annual medical mission to the Dominican Republic where he treats complex fractures and deformities.
